I was in direct contact with Marlena Romero LCSW when she was the clinical director of a residential home in which my son lived for 6 months. During this time Marlena made a multitude of errors in reports of my son. Marlena's most serious error was removing a diagnosis made by 2 psychiatrists in different states that was later diagnosed again by another psychiatrist in a different state. When we questioned Marlena about her errors and her experience with my child's issues, she told us to “step up” and gave us a 30 day notice to remove our child over the holidays. We often wonder if Marlena's aggressive vindictiveness was directed at the 2 fathers of her patient rather than focusing her energy and attention to helping our child. After 30 days, Marlena refused to release our child to our custody but recommended that we give up our child to foster care. Our child was released only after we hired a lawyer and alerted the local media and law enforcement of a possible kidnapping.
